2021 Hyundai Palisade vs. Chevrolet Tahoe
It's important to choose the right vehicle for your family, and you have a lot of options to choose from. While the Chevrolet Tahoe is a popular choice for families in Memphis, Tennessee, we at Gossett Hyundai South think the Palisade is a better option in particular ways. Here's a look at both SUVs.A Greater Value
The 2021 Hyundai Palisade gives you more bang for your buck. It's available at a far lower starting price than the Tahoe - a $16,000 difference between the base models - and offers longer warranty coverage.
Hyundai's new vehicle warranty is "America's Best Warranty," consisting of a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty and 5-year/60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper limited warranty. Chevrolet only offers 3 years or 36,000 miles on its bumper-to-bumper warranty and 5 years or 60,000 miles on its powertrain warranty.
Hyundai even offers 3 years of complimentary maintenance on new vehicles like the 2021 Palisade, so you save even more money during the first years of ownership. That's an abundance of value you won't get on the Tahoe.
Conserves More Gas
Another way the Palisade saves you more money than the Tahoe does is its fuel economy. The three-row Hyundai SUV boasts far more efficient fuel usage than the Tahoe does. Every 2021 Palisade uses a 3.8-liter GDI V6 engine that averages 26 mpg on highway drives.* The best the Tahoe can do is 20 mpg with its EcoTec3 V8 engine.
If you don't need that much power to tow heavy trailers every day, why waste so much extra money burning through gasoline every day? Stick with the V6 and pocket the difference.
More Standard Safety Features
Even at a lower price, the Palisade provides more standard features that cost extra on the Tahoe - particularly the safety systems. Hyundai SmartSense functions like Lane Keeping Assist and Driver Attention Warning are must-haves for parents driving in the busy Memphis area, so why spend extra for them on the Tahoe when they're included on the Palisade?
If you care about your budget and don't want to spend more than you need to on your next family vehicle, the 2021 Hyundai Palisade is the choice for you. It's a better deal than competitors like the Chevrolet Tahoe, and it's available now at Gossett Hyundai South.

2021 Hyundai Palisade vs. Honda Pilot
The Hyundai Palisade and Honda Pilot are two titans of the midsize SUV segment. Both are very similarly priced, with the Palisade just slightly undercutting the Pilot, and both offer seating for up to eight passengers. But while the Pilot has been around 2003, the Palisade is the new kid on the block, having launched for the 2020 model year as Hyundai's largest vehicle to date.
So how do they compare?
Passenger Space
The 2021 Hyundai Palisade and 2021 Honda Pilot both come with seating for up to eight passengers, or seven passengers with optional captain's chairs. Spaciousness is comparable in both vehicles, with the Palisade offering substantially more leg room for first- and second-row passengers. Hip room, shoulder room, and head room differs only slightly at all three rows.
The Palisade also has a minor advantage when it comes to cargo room. It has more space behind the third row - 18 vs 16.5 cubic feet- and behind the first row - 86.4 vs 83.9 cubic feet. Additionally, the Hyundai offers lots of storage nooks and crannies, including a cool, innovative storage box in the center console.
As for comfort, the Palisade is firmly in the lead thanks to its high-quality materials and overall luxe feel. Among all midsize SUVs on the market, the Palisade is top-shelf when it comes to presentation, giving you a luxury-class impression despite its more affordable price.
Performance and Technology
The 2021 Palisade and 2021 Pilot are closely matched under the hood. The Palisade uses a 3.8-liter V8 to put out 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque, so it has the advantage over the Pilot's 3.5-liter V6, which is rated just short at 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque, which could be a factor when hauling around a car full of kids and their Sunday sports equipment.
On the tech front, the Palisade is notable for having standard wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ - in the Pilot, you still get the wired version of these smartphone integration technologies, and they don't even come standard.
Both SUVs also offer a bevy of smart crash-avoidance features, though the Pilot falls short in actual crash testing. The 2021 Hyundai Palisade received the coveted 2020 IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award while its rival could not manage even the basic TPS award on account of its inferior passenger-side crash performance.
The Palisade is proof that Hyundai did its homework before launching its new flagship SUV. The Pilot may have been around for a lot longer, but it's been thoroughly outdone in this comparison. Give the 2021 Palisade a closer look at Gossett Hyundai South in Memphis, Tennessee!
