Hyundai recently released an advertisement introducing the new feature, Remote Smart Parking Assist, to the 2020 Hyundai Sonata. The commercial, appropriately named "Smaht Pahk," took a humorous approach to introduce the innovative technology.
Advertisement Overview
The advertisement stars Chris Evans, Rachel Dratch, John Krasinski and David Ortiz. Each celebrity adopts a heavy Boston accent, making for a comical commercial. At the beginning of the advertisement, Evans and Dratch watch a car fail to fit into a tight parking spot. After the car drives away, Krasinski pulls up with his 2020 Sonata. To the surprise of Evans and Dratch, Krasinski is able to park his car, thanks to what Krasinski refers to as "Smaht Pahk."
After being questioned by the other two, Krasinski reveals that he's essentially parked the 2020 Sonata at all the popular spots around the Boston area. Krasinski then demonstrates how the car can even pull back out of the parking spot with the push of a button. The group eventually garners the attention of Ortiz, who is also impressed by the new feature.
How Remote Smart Parking Assist Works
In the commercial, what Krasinski calls "Smaht Pahk," is actually the Remote Smart Parking Assist feature. This technology is one of the many Hyundai SmartSense features available for the 2020 Sonata. By simply pressing your Smart Key button, Remote Smart Parking Assist allows the car to pull in and out of a parking space itself, taking the stress out of parking into a cramped spot.* The technology is able to function whether or not you're in the car, providing added convenience. However, even with the technology-enabled, you can still stay in control of the car's maneuvering, using reverse and forward buttons on the key fob.
Remote Smart Parking Assist is one of the many advanced amenities on the 2020 Hyundai Sonata that can help enhance your ride. Discover more about the car when you take a test drive at Gossett Hyundai South.
*Standard on Limited trim.
Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA) can autonomously help park the vehicle. However, several factors can impact RSPA performance. RSPA may not function correctly if one or more of the parking sensors is damaged, dirty or covered or if weather conditions (heavy rain, snow or fog) interfere with sensor operation. Always inspect the parking area with your own eyes. See Owner's Manual for further details and limitations.
