Hyundai Motor America is putting customers first as the COVID-19 pandemic threatens financial stability, job status, and health. The company's solution to aiding customer is its Hyundai Assurance Job Loss Protection program.

The three-tier Hyundai Assurance Job Loss Protection program may be familiar to some Hyundai drivers. It debuted in 2009 to help Hyundai customers navigate the financial crisis at that time.

Now, the program is returning to offer Hyundai specific customers faced with unemployment and health problems due to the COVID-19 pandemic temporary relief on car payments. "We understand the extreme uncertainty created by the coronavirus and the anxiety experienced by our customers, and wanted to tap into Hyundai's legacy of having people's back," said Jose Munoz, the CEO of Hyundai Motor North America.

If you secured the keys to your new Hyundai vehicle via purchase or lease at Gossett Hyundai South from March 14-May 17, you use Hyundai Capital to finance your payments, and you lost your job due to the pandemic, you can earn up to six months of car payments.

If you're ready to buy a new Accent, Santa Fe, Venue, Elantra, Elantra GT, Tucson, or Kona through Hyundai Capital at Gossett Hyundai South, you'll have an extra 90 days to make your first payment.

If you're behind the wheel of an older Hyundai vehicle and COVID-19 has impacted your employment status or caused health-related problems before May 17, 2020, you can still earn some financial assistance through the program. As long as you financed your Hyundai through Hyundai Capital, the automaker will defer your car payments for three months on a month-to-month plan.
